Good Morning Quotes to Set the Tone for Your Day

So, I know the first rule of blogging is to write for your audience—give them what they need, serve up the resources, and keep it relevant. But I can’t lie: this post? It’s just as much for me as it is for anyone else.

Because, honestly, with the world worlding, I need this. I need a little spark to reignite my inner light. A moment to breathe. A few words that are for us, by us—words that remind me the morning sun is more than just light; it’s a promise of a new, beautiful day, even when it feels like I’ve already poured everything out.

Right now, while I love what I do, there are days when the work of bringing my organization’s B.R.A.V.E. leadership program into schools feels like climbing an uphill battle…backwards…in stilettos. Outside of Black History Month, introducing a Black-led leadership program to schools filled with Black kids but lacking Black leaders is meaningful—but let’s be real, it’s not for the faint of heart.

And when I lift my head from my own grind and look south of us, there’s enough chaos to leave anyone dizzy. Meanwhile, I’m over here trying to raise my kids, trying to assure them that the future is bright—even on days when I’m not so sure myself.
