Welcome.

As a writer, I found my lived experience as a Black parent often had no home. Outside of February, few sites told stories I could relate to. I grew weary of the nonexistent images of Black parenting.

I knew my experiences were not unique to me or happening in isolation to my children. Everywhere from birthday parties to parent council meetings, Black parents shared stories about navigating the world in our skin. We have achievements, challenges, grief, love and joys that are unique to parenting while Black.

So I created Parenting While Black as a safer online village. A place where our parenting magic is seen, centred and amplified.

Parenting while Black is a place where we can talk bonnets and plantain as easily as tantrums and premature labour. We support Rich Auntie Vibes with Buy Us, For Us all the while holding space for conversations on building generational wealth. We cherish our role as advocates while making sure our need for rest and self-care is uplifted.

Above all, Parenting while Black is a village for Black parents, guardians and caregivers to find stories that support, inform and celebrate us in our journey to raise our future kings, queens and monarchs.

It takes a village. Parenting While Black is ours.
