Black bloggers are my people. Canadian parenting bloggers? Well, they’re my people people!
Whenever I need them, these blogs are like little beams of joy that shine through the chaos, helping me zero in on what truly matters: my people, my family, our food, and our traditions.
These bloggers are the ultimate reminders of the many ways we show up and shine in this world. Vibrant? Check. Full of flavour? Absolutely. Worth celebrating? Always. They’re my Friday afternoon muses. My lunchtime not-guilty-at-all pleasures – and my go-to guides for everything from parenting advice to family-friendly recipes. They’ve helped me embrace the chaos of daily life. These folks help figure out the latest trends in home decor or manage the whirlwind of raising young kids.
And while I’m here for all the sites celebrating Black families, Canadian Black bloggers hold a special place in my heart. Black Canadian blogs make up a small but mighty portion of the internet – proving that while our numbers may not be huge, our impact is undeniable. These bloggers also shine a spotlight on Black businesses, share unique perspectives on everyday life (even from Winnipeg!), and highlight the importance of passing on our traditions to the next generation.
So check out these sites that have carved out spaces that remind us Rice and Peas, Jollof Rice, and Patties are as much a part of the Canadian and parenting landscape as hockey and poutine.
